February is our registration/application month. Please be advised that we cannot accept September registrations until then.
Please visit https://burnabyschools.ca/registration/ for more information regarding registration. Please note the links on this website have been removed until February 1.
All new students have to register at their local school even if they wish to attend a different school or a district program.
Cross and Out-of-District Transfers
Burnaby residents wanting to attend a school in September that is not the school designated for their attendance area must submit a Cross-District Transfer Application to their desired school. Students living outside Burnaby can apply to attend a Burnaby school by submitting an Out-of-District Transfer Application to their desired school.
The forms can be found on the district website, https://burnabyschools.ca/registration-categories/#studenttransfers, as can the email addresses for all schools. The links to this page have been removed temporarily and will return on February 1st.
- Fill out an online preliminary registration with their neighbourhood home school (if not already registered)
- Email a cross or out-of-district application form to the school they wish to attend.
French Immersion and Mandarin Language Arts
Elementary District Language Program applications are completed online https://forms.sd41.bc.ca/Forms/Applications-Language-Programs. Access to the forms will be returned to the district website on February 1st. “
Hello Parents and Caregivers,
A gentle reminder to everyone that children should not be dropped off at Cameron before 8:45 am. We do not have any morning supervision inside or outside the building and the warning bell to line up outside classes doesn’t ring until 8:50 am.
We often do our best to accommodate parents and students on occasion, but I have noticed that the number of students arriving at the school before 8:30 am has been increasing over the past couple months. Additionally, with the weather getting colder and wetter, it creates a real dilemma for our staff who then feel compelled to take time out of their morning preperation time to let students inside.
Thank you for your understanding and your cooperation.
Everyone knows what it feels like to try to get through the day if you haven’t had enough sleep. For students, that can mean having trouble learning because of difficulty concentrating, solving problems, or remembering. Sleep is a time for your brain to repair cells and build new pathways, which is critical for learning.
As part of our mental health strategy over the 2019-20 school year, we’ll be providing teachers with information and tools to help teach students about:
- the importance of sleep for health and learning
- how to get enough sleep
Sleep, along with nutrition, stress management, exercise, and positive social connections, are all connected to positive mental health.
